Covidien plc To Replace McAfee In S&P 500 Index

Covidien plc (NYSE:COV) will replace McAfee Inc. (NYSE:MFE) in the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on a date to be announced. McAfee is being acquired by S&P 100 & 500 constituent Intel Corp. (NASD:INTC) in a deal expected to be completed soon.
Covidien develops, manufactures, and sells healthcare products. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, the company will be added to the S&P 500 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Health Care Equipment Sub-Industry index.
